Croatia is a Central European and Mediterranean country, and has a 1778 km mainland coastline, with 1185 islands and Mediterranean climate, it is one of the sunniest coastlines in Europe, and one of Europe's top seaside destinations. This unique country offers a vacation spot for everyone to enjoy, be it coastline or islands. With a history dating back over a thousand years, it appeared on the political map of Europe for the first time in 1992. It covers a land area of 56,691 square kilometres and has a population of about 4.5 million people. The capital city is Zagreb.
    
There are numerous gorgeous holiday destinations in Croatia. Places to visit include, Istria, Kvarner, Dalmatia, but that is not all.
The central part of the country is an area of romantic medieval castles, palaces and shrines of pilgrimage. Slavonia is a country wide and vast golden plains, fertile Pannonia, powerful rivers, floodplains areas from which they sprung up centuries-old oak trees. Lika and Gorski Kotar is the continental part that connect Dalmatian coast with the central part of the country, the area of protected nature parks, exceptional natural beauty. It is the country where history has preserved many Greek and Roman ruins, and there is always something remarkable to see, like historic walled cities such as Dubrovnik, Diocletian Palace in Split, old town of Trogir (all UNESCO World Heritage sites), Pula amphiteatre, golden Byzantine mosaics of Porec's St Euphrasius Basilica in Istria, st. Jacob Cathedral in Sibenik and many more.
For some tourists, food is a main thing, and you will like the Croatian cuisine for sure, especially the one along the coast, someone will choose to visiting local grocery, open-air marketplaces, take walks in extraordinary places, go through festivals or local traditional ceremonies.
Croatia is the right place for this. All you have to do is choose where you’re going to stay and how will you spend your time. You can go to nearest beach and take a swimming, diving, surfing or just lie down and sunbathe, or to inspect the cultural and historical monuments, and do a lot more different things …that is your choice!
