Flying. I love to fly, I would get on a plane and fly somewhere everyday if I could. I love the thrill of take off and landing, the excitement of heading off to a destination and the anticipation of getting there.

Flights have certainly come a long way.

DELAG, (Deutsche Luftschiffahrts-Aktiengesellschaft) German for "German Airship Transport Corporation", was the world's first airline. It was founded on November 16, 1909 with government assistance, and operated airships manufactured by Zeppelin Corporation. Its headquarters were in Frankfurt.

The five oldest airlines that still exist are Australia's Qantas, Netherland's KLM, Colombia's Avianca, Czech Republic's Czech Airlines and Mexico's Mexicana. KLM first flew in May 1920 while Qantas was founded in Queensland, Australia in late 1920.

Today there are hundreds of airlines flying to every part of the world. Some we haven't heard of and maybe a bit dubious of using and others that are well known. Qantas, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, United, to name just a few.

I must say that I have found Qantas and British Airways Business class to be outstanding. British Airways was fantastic. There is no experience to compare with having breakfast in bed at 32,000 feet. As for economy, you can't go past Emirates.

To help you with your search for the perfect flight, I have gathered the airlines in one place. You can book directly with them from here. Just click on the airline that interests you. Enjoy your flight.
