Mt Bromo and Semeru, Java The island of Java, lying in the Indonesian archipelago, in the middle of the equator. Probably the most populated island in the world, but also with many undiscovered amazing places, maybe even places that you might never have heard before.

Most Indonesian people live here, about 62 % of the whole population.

Incredible and mysterious mountains towering over the island, ready to explore. Beautiful sights of rice paddy fields through the whole island and the mighty and gracious temples and not to forget the amazing and beautiful beaches, they all form the magnetism for people to visit.

The rice paddys of Java are the richest in the world, which you can also see around the island; everywhere you can enjoy the sight of the green paddy fields. This agriculture is also one of the most important occupations besides fishing, the major income of Indonesian people.

This island is also home for many volcanoes. Most of them are still active volcano like Mount Merapi, Mount Bromo, the most attractive volcano of Java.

Java is divided into four provinces:

• Banten, was once a part of West Java province. In year 2000, this city became a separate province with Serang as the capital city.

A charming and lovable province.

• West java, with its capital city Bandung, very different than any other provinces, Central and East Java. The capital city of this province, Bandung, lies in the mountainous area while on the other provinces, the capitals lie on the coast area.

• Central Java with Semarang as the capital, lie on the coast area. This is the province where you can find the magnetism of Buddha temple, Borobudur and other magnificent temples.

• East java, the most fascinating province of the island, with magnificent Mount Bromo. This province is the most closest area to Bali. It make also easier to jump from this island to Bali.

• Special district of Yogyakarta, the smallest province of Indonesia. This province is the place where you can experience the old time of Java.

• Special capital district of Jakarta. The capital city of Indonesia. Modern and a busy city with many interesting place to visit.

Malabar Tea Plantation, Java There are three main languages spoken in the island of Java, beside the national language, Bahasa Indonesia.

-In province West Java and Banten people speak sundanese.

-In Central and East Java, people spoken Javanese, and in the island of Madura people speak Madurese.

-Beside these three main languages, there is another local language, Betawi, spoken by people of Jakarta.

-Sundanese and Javanese have different level of words, high and low. Low Sundanese or Javanese spoken in daily life while soft or high level were used to speak to Sultan or another inferior.

Travel through Java Island could be the most interesting journey. Sure there are places that you prefer to avoid, like Jakarta, too hot and dirty, but still Jakarta has valuable museums that are worth visiting. Mostly the big cities are not clean and the traffic would be endless hell.

But look to the other sides, the villages, friendly people, and the culture, they are truly the beauty sides of this island.
