Still known as the Cradle of British Innovation Suffolk, is close to London and Cambridge.

Suffolk County, England Today Suffolk is still an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Suffolk countryside is some of the best nature has to offer.

In Suffolk you will find quintessential English villages with traditional pubs, inns and coaching houses, historic castles and country houses many of which have been restored and now offer some of the finest in restaurants, hotels, bed and breakfast and guest house accommodation.

Suffolk County, England There are 45 miles of coastline, which explains Suffolk’s importance as a maritime centre and leading sailing location. Suffolk has some superb beaches and some of the best Seaside Hotels in the UK.

The county is also a leading arts and cultural centre. Artists and composers including Constable, Gainsborough and Britten have made Suffolk their home and inspiration. The tradition continues and you will find many galleries and studios as well as excellent shops selling everything from handcrafted jewellery to antiques and gifts.

Perhaps Suffolk's most famous town is Newmarket, home to some 3000 racehorses in training and home to the famous racecourse.

If you love food and drink then you'll love Suffolk. Suffolk boasts a wide range of dining options, from fine food shops to fine dining restaurants. Many of the fabulous restaurants specialise in providing food using produce that is sourced locally. Wherever you might be in Suffolk, you’re never too far from multiple fine dining options.

Two of the UK's largest remaining brewers, Greene King and Adnams are to be found here. Suffolk is also home to lots of smaller breweries whose styles range from the solidly traditional Bitters and Milds (one of the last bastions in southern England of this threatened style), through to exotic beers made with wheat, fruit and spices.
