The United States of America is such a diverse place to visit.
Travelling in the United States is extremely easy. In a country where everyone seems to be forever on the move, there's rarely any problem finding a room for the night, and you can almost certainly depend on being able to eat well and inexpensively.
America is a great place to take a road trip. It takes a long time before the sheer pleasure of cruising down the highway, with the radio blaring blues or country music and seeing the signs to Chicago, Memphis or Monument Valley flashing past, begins to fade.
Car rental is a bargain
You can pretty well get to wherever you choose by a nationwide network of air, bus and rail. New York and Los Angeles have an exhilarating excitement, and among their worthy rivals are New Orleans, the wonderfully decadent home of jazz, Chicago, a showcase of modern architecture, and San Francisco, on its beautiful Pacific bay. 
Few other cities, with the possible exception of Las Vegas, shimmering in the desert, can quite match this level of interest.
Las Vegas is a city in Nevada which came to prominence when it legalised gambling in 1931, going on to create many casino hotels and become one of the entertainment capitals of the world. Las Vegas is an incredibly popular filming location for the movie and television industry and sets are created there on a daily basis.
A big moment in the establishment of Las Vegas was when the Hoover Dam was built nearby which created the water reserves to turn this desert town into one of the most populated cities in America. More than one million people live in Las Vegas and this number is buoyed by the thousands of visitors who go there every year to try their luck and have a good time.
Famous for its neon lights and colourful strip, Las Vegas is the brightest man made entity in the world and can actually be seen clearly from space.
Car Rental Las Vegas allows you to drive to the awe inspiring Hoover Dam and the nearby Lake Mead, the largest man made water reservoir in the world. When construction of the Hoover Dam was finished in 1935 it was the world’s largest concrete structure and served its purpose of taming the Colorado River.
Take care when driving around Las Vegas as temperatures can get incredibly hot so you should always keep a reserve of water with you. However, having a car allows you to see some wonderful areas within the Mojave Desert such as the Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs and the Las Vegas Springs Preserve which is a wonderful place to go for walks.
Vegas, as it is fondly known, is also sometimes called ‘Sin City’ because so much adult entertainment has sprung up in the city. Vegas has always had a slightly seedy reputation, from the days of being a railway town used by the pioneers coming westwards to the proliferation of mobsters who owned the casinos and much of the city itself.

There is also the thermal wonderland of Yellowstone, the awesome red-rock canyons of Arizona and Utah, and the spectacular Rocky Mountains are among many of the treasures preserved and protected in the splendid national park system. Once you reach such wilderness, the potential for hiking and camping is wonderful. What about communing with nature at Glacier National Park? Do you ever wish you could explore remote areas that others don’t even know exist? At Glacier National Park, you can. Backpacking through this beautiful destination in the state of Montana will provide you with amazing experiences. The park boasts a plethora of activities which explain why it received the nickname of “backpacker’s paradise.” White water rafting, hiking, camping and nature watching are some of the pursuits that will make your journey unforgettable. And by opting for this form of travel, as you discover the trails and uncover the many hidden treasures, chances are your impact on the land will be less than minimal. Not found on many maps, this unique spot is within proximity to a cluster of waterfalls. It leads to the Sue Lake Bench, an ideal place from where to admire the snow-capped peaks. Past the Mokowanis Cascades, above the Paiota Falls is the Stoney Indian Pass Trail. It showcases the bewildering vistas of rock formations monopolizing the skyline. Should you opt to take this route, the fifteen-mile paths that border the Mokowanis River will provide you with the quiet you seek and no shortage of thrills. Backpacking has become a favorite activity. It’s an inexpensive way to travel the globe, take in fresh air, gain insight into a region’s history and have a lot of fun.

Above all, travellers can enjoy the sheer thrill of experiencing American popular culture in the places where it began. For music fans, the chance to hear country music in Nashville or rhythm and blues in New Orleans, or to visit Elvis's shrine in Memphis. You do not have to cross the entire continent from shore to shore in order to appreciate its amazing diversity, or to be impressed by the way in which such an extraordinary range of geographical features and people has been blended into one nation. It would take a long time to see the whole place and the more time you spend on the road simply getting from place to place, no matter how enjoyable that is, the less time you'll have to savor the small-town pleasures and back road oddities that may well provide your strongest memories.
