A place in the Sun is well known to Brits and this popular program has just released a “top ten” index revealing where most people from the UK are looking to buy a place abroad. It seems Spain continues to be the top destination. Ultimately it seems us Brits do not like to steer too far from home. Florida is number five and the only long-distance destination on their top ten. Yes, without doubt, it seems Spain has and always will be a top destination when it comes to Brits buying abroad.
Brexit Affect
A lot of speculation has been flying around with regards to how Brexit will change the Spanish real estate market. Contrary to predictions it seems that since the UK Voted to come out of the EU more Brits are buying in Spain than ever! The logic seems, buy sooner rather than later. In case it gets too tricky later maybe? Whatever the reason, the fact is that sales are going up, not down.

Towns like Javea, Denia and Calpe, which are around an hours’ drive from Alicante airport, are becoming very popular with those seeking a little more of the “real Spain”. Without doubt, if that’s what appeals to you most, these should be among your top destinations. The property in this area is still relatively cheap and with plenty of sun, sea and sand you really cannot go wrong!
